Dr. Newman will lead clinical vision and strategy of Navina's AI-powered clinical intelligence platform
NEW YORK, Nov. 5, 2026 — Navina, the leading AI-powered clinical intelligence platform, today announced the appointment of Dr. Joshua Newman as Chief Medical Officer. A physician who has spent two decades building healthcare technology at enterprise scale, Dr. Newman will define Navina's clinical vision and serve as its clinical voice with customers, partners, and the broader healthcare industry. He joins Navina at a moment of rapid growth for the company, which has scaled its platform across over 20,000 clinicians and care team members at over 1,300 clinics across the U.S., helping support the care of more than five million patient lives.
Dr. Newman's appointment brings to Navina a rare combination of experience, both as a frontline clinician and as a senior executive responsible with scaling healthcare technology from inside one of the world's largest enterprise software companies. He spent nearly 14 years at Salesforce, where he served as SVP and Chief Medical Officer and as SVP and Global GM of Healthcare and Life Sciences, building the company's healthcare business and its relationships with health systems and payers. Most recently, he was Chief Strategy Officer at Alleviate.care, a physician-led hospice and palliative care organization. He began his career in clinical practice and served as an assistant professor of medicine at UCLA.
"Dr. Newman's deep expertise and commitment to advancing technology in the healthcare industry is a perfect fit for the next phase of Navina's growth and development," said Ronen Lavi, Co-founder and CEO of Navina. "Dr. Newman knows what clinicians need from technology because he has been on every side of that exchange. As Navina grows, he will help ensure the physician perspective remains at the center of what we build and how we bring it into care delivery."
At Navina, Dr. Newman will oversee and help drive the platform's implementation and adoption, and work directly with the physicians and care teams who use it, translating their experience into the product roadmap. He will also partner with Navina's go-to-market teams to directly support customers and prospects, and represent the company in ongoing industry conversations around AI adoption and technology's role in driving better population health and patient outcomes.
"Value-based care asks clinicians to act on information that is scattered across thousands of pages of records, and then punishes them with documentation work when they do," said Dr. Joshua Newman, Chief Medical Officer, Navina. "Navina solves that at the point of care, inside the workflow, which is why clinicians actually use it. I joined because the team focuses on making the physician's day better and the patient's care stronger."
